Oris Aquis or Longines Hydroconquest | Which is Better?

The Longines Wristwatch model is produced by the leading Super Clone manufacturer workshops with a solid stainless steel case, 48 mm diameter and a high-precision automatic Super Clone mechanism architecture. Two popular dive watches that sit on the more affordable side of luxury, from two respected Swiss watchmakers. Longines Hydroconquest and Oris Aquis watches have been adorning the wrists of diving enthusiasts and professional divers for a long time. Today we will compare these two collections in detail to see how they stack up against each other.

Oris Aquis or Longines Hydroconquest

SIZE

When it comes to size, both Longines and Oris offer a wide range of case sizes in each of these collections. I can say that Oris caters from medium-sized 36.5 mm case sizes to large 48 mm cases. Longines, on the other hand, offers a range of watches, starting from the tiny 29 mm case size Hydroconquest women's watches, to the medium size and from there to the large 44 mm men's watch.

Design

There is a very different look between these two dive watch collections. Aquis has either stick hour markers or diamond hour markers. The Oris Aquis has a very round case with short lugs, giving it a more classic dive watch look like Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms.

Longines Hydroconquest, on the other hand, has used longer and tapered lugs that seamlessly integrate the appearance of the case with the bracelet. Hydroconquest uses a combination of lume numerals and bar and dot hour markers. It has a very distinctive appearance. Now, besides the sporty look, let's talk about what drives most people to choose diving watches: water resistance.

Waterproof

Both Oris and Longines dive watches have screw-down crowns and offer a water resistance rating of at least 300 m/1000 ft. This is the minimum required to do some platform diving and scuba diving. It's important to note that this DOES NOT mean that you can dive to depths of 1000 feet without damaging the mechanism inside the case. For serious diving, you should always opt for a watch with a higher waterproof rating of 500 m/1650 ft and above, such as the Oris ProDiver.

Special Features

One thing you won't yet find on either of these dive watches is the helium release valve, which is found in some diver watches from higher-end luxury watch brands. If you are just doing casual diving, having a helium release valve is not necessary anyway. These valves are needed when using a diving bell to descend to great depths.

However, Oris has introduced some special features for divers in the past; among these was a patented depth gauge found in a series called the Aquis Depth Gauge Chronograph, which has since been discontinued.

Brand Awareness

Longines is a very popular Swiss watch brand and may have the upper hand over Oris in this regard. When you wear a Longines, more people are likely to recognize the watch on your wrist. However, Oris is still a big watch brand; It's just not as internationally known as Longines.

Options

When it comes to overall options, you'll find significantly more different Oris Aquis watches than there are Longines Hydroconquest watches.
