PPF

PPF is ZF.

Earlier this month, PPF announced that they would be making some changes to the two watches; one is Nautilus 5712 and the other is Overseas 4500V. Both are very popular models, especially the bestseller of recent years, the Nautilus 5712. The improvements to both watches are now complete; Below I'll show you what improvements have been made to both.

Detailed Review and Features

First up is the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712. It was the V3 version before this improvement, and remained V3 afterwards. Two improvements had already been made to this watch: on the V2, the power reserve became a reality, and on the V3, the clasp was changed. Now PPF has made another significant improvement to the mechanism; gold glyphs are now deeper. Please see the comparison photos. I put the two movements side by side for comparison, it is very easy to see the difference. On the old version the gold text appears to be printed, on the new version it is engraved and has a distinct depth.

Second is the Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V. The improvement was again made on the mechanism; the balance wheel was moved to 7 o'clock, actually quite close to 8 o'clock; You can see it in the V1 and V2 photos below. However, after this change in the movement, the case thickness increased from 11.2 mm to 11.5 mm. Also the date setting has changed; In the previous V1, the date changed when you turned the crown clockwise. In the V2 version, you need to turn the crown counterclockwise to set the date. Some people said the date font was thicker in V2, but I didn't notice a difference.
