Jaeger-LeCoultre in ANON Movie: Mind-blowing Movies and Hours

In one of the opening scenes of the new Netflix movie ANON, Clive Owen walks past a Jaeger-LeCoultre store; He plays a detective in the not-too-distant future who is equipped with the kind of augmented reality eye implants that everyone uses… you know, who doesn't want to have electronic hardware implanted inside their eyeballs?

Anyway, I digress... Just before his first encounter with his co-star in the film, Amanda Seyfried, he passes the window of a Jaeger-LeCoultre store. As you can see in the image below, his attention is immediately drawn to the absolutely stunning JLC watches; Most of these seem to be from the Master Control series. This isn't exactly surprising, as the Master Control collection arguably contains some of JLC's best watches ever; However, most of the watches you see and hear about are JLC Reverso models, as Reverso is perhaps the brand's most iconic watch. Ironically, their most iconic watches are nowhere to be found in this display case. It's like "Hey guys, JLC has way more impressive stuff than the Reverso, come check it out!" as if to say.

Next is where the real magic happens. First of all, the augmented reality ad properly pronounces the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand name in its original French pronunciation; Let us also point out for everyone who argues on this issue, it is correctly read as "jey-JEY leh KUL-tr" (the case is closed).

Then you look at the store window and notice that your view is overlaid with data on each watch, including the watch's name and model number. Then he finds a watch that catches his eye: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Geographic, reference #1428421, with a stainless steel case, silver dial, and black alligator strap.

But let's figure out how much of these images are CGI and how much is actually possible with today's augmented reality technology... I'll leave that to the geniuses behind the viral Pokémon GO app that brought the implementation of this technology into the mainstream. But wouldn't it be great if the future was really like this? At least in terms of shopping?

This wouldn't be the first time a JLC graced the wrist of Hollywood actor Clive Owen. As a JLC brand ambassador, he has many of these watches. But all jokes aside, have we really revealed the future of shopping? Is everything heading this way?
