Today, we will take a close and detailed look at the Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic, a beautiful example of how timeless design and refinement can always captivate the heart of a collector.

The collection currently includes several models. This collection does not need too many models; Because each watch in this series looks quite perfect as it is. To be completely frank, it would be really difficult to pick a single favorite; so to keep things simple we will cover model number 18.2270.4069/18.c498.

One of the most striking features of this watch is its beautiful bronze dial, which has a fine-grained sunburst finish radiating from its center outwards. The dial has an almost smoky brown look, with a linear color gradient that is darker at the top and bottom and lighter in the centre. It captures the light in such a way that it gives the watch the look of a professional photo shoot in those glossy watch advertisements wherever you go.

As if that wasn't enough to impress me, the 18-carat rose gold material used on the case, crown, chronograph pushers, hour markers, and hour and minute hands is the perfect complementary tone to highlight the already attractive dial. Absolutely eye-catching and aesthetically pleasing; Despite this, it manages to remain simple and classic in its design. The steel model of the Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic also has the same transitional dial; However, in my humble opinion, the rose gold model complements the warm tones of the transition more. This is more a matter of personal taste. Everyone has their own choice.

One thing I noticed about hour markers is that even-digit hours use double signs, and odd-digit hours use a single sign. I appreciate a watch that can be simply beautiful without being overwhelmed by complex design features and unnecessary embellishments.

The 30-minute chronograph counter sub-dial and small seconds sub-dial are printed directly above the main dial in a subtle sans-serif font. Surrounding the dial is a seconds and split seconds track printed in white. Since this is an extremely precise chronograph, split seconds come in handy.

This shouldn't be surprising; Because inside the Elite Chronograph Classic is the famous El Primero caliber 4069 movement, which is based on the Zenith El Primero 400 and not anyone else. Other brands also used this basic caliber: Panerai in the OP IV caliber in some Luminor Chrono watches, and Panerai in the OP VI caliber found in the Luminor Chrono Flyback (model #PAM00060); In the HUB 4700 caliber, which is featured in many Hublot Spirit of Big Bang watches; TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber 36 Flyback watches; BVLGARI uses this basis in its BVL 328 caliber, which powers many Bulgari Octo Velocissimo watches.

Zenith El Primero 4069 movement is an automatic/self-winding mechanical high beat movement that operates at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, i.e. 5Hz. This beautifully crafted caliber can be viewed in action through the transparent sapphire case back. It contains 31 jewels and has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.

4069 is a 30 mm caliber that uses a column-wheel chronograph mechanism, which is often preferred to its CAM-driven counterpart as it provides a smoother start and stop movement on the rectangular chronograph pushers. The movement also offers hour, minute and small seconds display. The automatic self-winding, semi-skeletal weighted rotor is visible from the case back and has the words Zenith El Primero, Manufacture Le Clocle and the iconic Zenith star filled in black.

The 41mm case has a nice classic size, is only 11.80mm thick and is exquisitely polished. The case back is fixed with 4 screws, one on each corner, and there is scratch-resistant sapphire glass on both the front and back of the case. While this isn't the kind of watch you'd want to take swimming, it's waterproof enough for a light swim by the pool.

All in all, this is a watch that's easy to fall in love with and is definitely a standout. It is mounted on a dark, rich brown alligator leather strap with matching brown stitching. It is fixed on your wrist with an 18-karat rose gold push-button folding clasp. The rose gold buckle features a combination of brushed and polished craftsmanship and a polished star. It truly is a carefully crafted watch and will look great on almost any wrist.
