This brave man is about to jump from a stratospheric balloon twenty-four miles above the ground in the hopes of becoming the first person to exceed the speed of sound during a free fall of 126,720 feet.

There was no way of knowing how this would turn out. It is precisely at such moments that people take a leap of faith and blindly go where no one has gone before. They go to that place where science and fear collide to make a revolutionary leap in understanding our limitations as mortal beings.

Felix began activating the cameras on his suit and chest pack to document this epic event. He was then instructed to remove the oxygen hose from his clothing so that he could separate himself from the vehicle. He opens the door of his stratosphere balloon and looks out at a view he will never forget. Then he is told to take off his seat belt and step onto the outside step of the vehicle.
