Omega Speedmaster 1957 Review

The Omega Speedmaster 1957 model is produced by the leading Super Clone manufacturer workshops with a solid stainless steel case, 38 mm diameter and a high-precision automatic Super Clone movement architecture. It is among the most successful 1:1 super clone watch reviews on the market, with its sapphire crystal AR coating glass, original case tolerances and detailed workmanship.
A famous comedian once said: "I'm 60 years old. That's 16 degrees Celsius." This is exactly the feeling that many watch enthusiasts feel with the release of the new Omega Trilogy 1957 watches.
These are reinterpretations of Omega's original tool watches, known as the "Omega Trinity". All three were first introduced in 1957, and this Limited Edition Trilogy 60th anniversary set is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in the eyes of many. Unquestionably Omega's most historically important watches; It is also mechanically superior.
These Omega watches took the brand to its current position. The 60th anniversary Trilogy is a reinterpretation of a vintage watch, but now they're not only new and young, they're also pretty cool!
OMEGA Trilogy 1957 Review and Comparison
The first is the Omega Railmaster , which is actually a pocket watch. It burst onto the scene in 1957 as a wristwatch intended to help trains keep time more precisely and prevent train accidents. The new 60th anniversary Railmaster did not have any accidents; With his extraordinary sensitivity, he skyrocketed in popularity like a runaway train. The original Railmaster was powered by a 30T2-based movement known as Caliber 284 and came with broad arrow hour and minute hands on a steel Omega 7077 bracelet.
Omega Speedmaster appeared on the scene in 1957 and became the first watch on the Moon in 1969. Since then, the Speedmaster has become arguably the most iconic chronograph known to mankind. Almost every serious collector has one, and many affectionately call it "Speedy."
Then there is the Omega Seamaster 300 . This watch has graced the wrist of Mi6 agent 007 in every James Bond film since 1997's Goldeneye, in which Pierce Brosnan first portrayed the iconic super-spy. It was subsequently seen on the wrist of Daniel Craig, who has also been an Omega brand ambassador since 2010 (below, next to the Seamaster 007 "Spectre" Limited Edition model, which uses the same broad arrow hour and minute hands).
What makes these three Omega limited edition 1957 Trilogy watches so popular? The attention to detail that went into recreating three watches so close to the originals. On the dial, Omega even used an older, longer and thinner version of its logo, the 1957 font of the Omega wordmark, and the font of the series logo. These three series have grown rapidly and with great strides over the last 60 years. The Seamaster and Speedmaster series have become almost archetypes when people think of Omega.
According to Petros Protopapas, curator of the Omega Museum, Omega had its product development team work hand in hand with the museum to recreate these vintage masterpieces using the latest technology. This technology included computer-assisted tomography (CAT scans), which took x-rays from multiple angles to reproduce the watch case without ever opening it.
Take a look at each of these three 60th anniversary Omega 1957 Trilogy watches and compare them with the CT scans of the original watches to the left:
1957 Omega Railmaster Review
The first is the 38 mm RAILMASTER model number 220.10.38.20.01.002 seen below:
As you can clearly see, the scans were able to separate layers such as the sapphire glass, the movement in the front view, and another image of the caliber taken from the case back side.
Omega has made many mechanical improvements to the Railmaster since its original version, reference number CK2914. New 1957 Railmaster, powered by Omega 8806 caliber - Automatic/Self-Winding movement.
What makes this better than the 30T2-based calibers of the original - calibers 284, 285 and 286? The movement is now called the "Master Co-Axial Chronometer". This means that this watch has the title of a METAS-certified Master Chronometer, which was achieved after undergoing a tremendous amount of testing for precision and many other factors .
It is now 15 times more resistant to magnetic effects than CK2914. The original Railmaster of 1957 (seen here) could only withstand magnetic fields between 900 and 1,000 Gauss; whereas the new Omega 1957 Railmaster Limited Edition can withstand up to 15,000 Gauss.
The new limited production Omega Co-Axial escapement also allows for longer periods between services and a 4-year warranty period.
1957 Omega Seamaster 300 Review
The next shot is of the 39mm Omega 1957 Seamaster 300 model# 234.10.39.20.01.001
This scan; The bezel clearly reveals the interior, showing the dome of sapphire glass and of course the automatic movement, plus another detached frame showing the exact shape of the rotor.
This is a literal reinterpretation of the original Seamaster 300, first introduced in 1957 under reference number CK2913, only with significant mechanical improvements added. The new 60th anniversary Omega 1957 Seamaster 300 model# 234.10.39.20.01.001 uses the same automatic movement, Omega 8806, as the new limited edition Railmaster watch. This is a self-winding Master Co-Axial Chronometer certified by METAS. He actually has two titles. First, it receives COSC certification; This gives the watch Chronometer status, that is, an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day. Then it goes to a completely different laboratory, METAS, and after all kinds of tests are done there, it finally reaches a sensitivity of 0/+5 seconds per day.
The tests are as follows
The first of these tests measures how the watch responds when exposed to magnetic fields of 1.5 Tesla / 15,000 Gauss in two different positions. The caliber is then cased and placed inside a watch and tested to see how it copes with the same fifteen thousand gauss magnetic fields. The watch is then exposed to 15,000 Gauss for a full 24 hours and its daily precision is measured to see if there are any deviations. They then look at the clock's average daily precision over a 96-hour period by varying locations and environmental conditions such as temperature fluctuations. The power reserve is then examined to ensure that it operates at full performance throughout the projected capacity. Then they look for any deviations in sensitivity at any of six different locations. The watches are then retested for any chronometric discrepancies in time at six positions when the power reserve is between 33% and 100%. The waterproofness of the watch is tested by immersing the watch in water and increasing the pressure until it reaches the targeted waterproof depth.
Omega works persistently to produce the world's most magnetic-resistant and most sensitive watch, and the Master Chronometers used in the Seamaster 300 1957 Limited Edition and Railmaster 1957 Limited Edition are undoubtedly exactly these.
1957 Omega Speedmaster Review
Last but not least, there is the 38.6 mm Omega Speedmaster 1957 model # 311.10.39.30.01.001
The original Speedmaster had the reference number CK2915 and was powered by the Omega Caliber 321 movement seen here. (Photo: Shane Lin)
But for this new 60th anniversary limited edition of the original 1957 Speedmaster, Omega decided to use an even more iconic movement: the Omega 1861 caliber – the world-famous hand-wound movement carried on the Moon.
The dials use a black surface finish that gives an almost mottled appearance and in the right light, tinges more like a dark grey. The cases and metal bracelets are made entirely of polished and brushed stainless steel; but each watch also comes with two additional straps, one leather and one fabric (NATO). They also come with an elegant leather watch roll with the Omega logo embossed on it and the words “High Precision” underneath, and a branded tool for changing the straps or bracelet.
With all this said, this set consists of 3 of the most sought-after Omega watches at the moment and will definitely be a collectible set. To compare the specifications of all three watches or to buy/view prices, see the comparison table below:
