As with all Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, my expectations for the JLC Polaris Chronograph were not only high; At the same time, these expectations were quickly met and possibly even exceeded. This model with the reference number 9022450 is particularly eye-catching with its exceptionally crafted movement visible through the transparent case back. One of the first things you will notice about this watch is the impeccable craftsmanship on the solid 18k rose gold case, and this exquisite craftsmanship extends from the case to the caliber. The gray dial is also finished using 3 different types of workmanship: a sunray workmanship in the middle of the dial, a gray fine-grained workmanship used as a background for the numerals and indices, which really makes the numbers stand out, and finally an opaline workmanship was used for the flange of the dial and the chronograph sub-dials.

It features appliqué rose gold-toned hour markers and Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 marks. The numerals and hour markers are filled with lume material, which makes it very easy to read in low light conditions without looking overdone. The column wheel chronograph can be operated using the polished 18 carat rose gold pushers on the side of the case. There is a subdial for the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour subdial at 9 o'clock.

The case is made of solid gold and is 42 mm wide and 11.2 mm thick. This can fit comfortably under almost any cuff. The watch has a nice weight to it and comes on a beautiful brown alligator leather strap fastened with an 18k rose gold folding buckle branded with the embossed Jaeger LeCoultre logo.

Every aspect of this watch receives admiring responses, but what I find most fascinating is the caliber, which features a dazzling rotor with incredible craftsmanship. This is to be expected from JLC, one of the world's most competent and respected Swiss watch manufacturers, but it's still jaw-dropping to see in person.
