Introducing the Breitling Aviator 8 B35 Automatic Unitime 43. Actually, this watch was produced for pilots; because it is designed and engineered to be in the air rather than on the ground. This is definitely a special watch for Breitling, and there are many reasons why. Let's open the hood and take a closer look at some of the mechanics that make this watch so different.

Breitling's Automatic Caliber B35 Unitime movement is an in-house produced and COSC Certified chronometer with World Time function; Moreover, it is the first of its kind from Breitling. It is the first in-house Breitling movement that does not come with a chronograph complication. It actually uses Breitling's own patented World Time complication.

This feature provides worldwide time via a rotating inner bezel that displays the world's 24 major cities in 24 different time zones. Since the inner bezel rotates with the hour hand, it becomes extremely easy to read the time no matter what happens and where you are.

The COSC history is truly impressive; because nearly every Breitling I've ever seen has this certification, and they're surprisingly accurate for a mechanical watch. What really surprised me was the mechanism that Breitling calls in-house.

The B35 movement is actually based on an ETA 2892 base caliber; It is then fitted with the World Time module and some extras at Breitling's factory. For example, with a nice power reserve upgrade. The ETA 2892 is a 21 jewel caliber that offers just 42 hours of power reserve; It also has other nice features like stop-seconds (hacking seconds) for precise time setting, Incabloc shock absorbing system, and a bearing rotor for smooth installation.

However, when it turns into the Breitling B35, it now becomes a 41-jewel movement with a 70-hour power reserve. Of course, the addition of the World Time feature is also a big plus, but we cannot ignore the remaining advantages.
