Richard Mille RM055 APS Factory Review

Richard Mille RM055 RM055 model is produced by APS Factory with a 5th class titanium case, standard case diameter and high precision automatic Super Clone movement architecture. It is among the most successful 1:1 super clone watch reviews on the market, with its sapphire crystal AR coating glass, original case tolerances and detailed workmanship.

Movement and Caliber Performance

ZF had made RM055 before; white ceramic and NTPT models were available with the super clone RMUL2 movement. APS currently only has NTPT models, but APS has made a few improvements over the RM055 over the ZF. First, both ZF and APS use the same super clone RMUL2 mechanism in this model; However, APS has applied satin finish to the movement frames, which looks closer to the original movement. However, ZF's movement frames always look too shiny no matter which angle you look at them. The second movement improvement is a small detail on the left corner of the movement; You can see this by comparing photos of ZF and APS. We call this super clone RMUL2 V2 RMUL2. This RMUL2 super clone movement is really good; I can't find the difference between it and the original mechanism. When you operate the crown, you can clearly see the working mechanism parts through the windshield.

Case and Body Workmanship

Other improvements made on the APS RM055 are as follows:
The carbon texture on the case looks better on APS.
The case thickness is thinner than ZF.
The rubber strap feels more comfortable than BBR's rubber strap.
The titanium buckle has removable titanium screws for fastening; whereas in the ZF buckle, the screws are fixed and cannot be removed.
