There are a few things that make this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch unique. As we just mentioned, it is a limited edition model with only 100 units produced; so you'll probably never see anyone else wearing it. In a world where imitations and unprecedented abundance reign, rarity and originality now have a completely different value.

But leaving all the vanity aside, the watch is made of black ceramic material that is extremely scratch-resistant. Moreover, it uses the same combination of brushed and polished workmanship on the case, bracelet and bezel that you see on the precious metal and steel models that everyone has grown to love over the years. So it's still true to the original; just with a few extra benefits that will keep your watch looking new for longer.

Watch manufacturers began experimenting with ceramics in the early 1960s; It was Rado who took the first step in this regard. But over the last few decades, ceramics have become extremely common, even for high-end luxury watch brands like AP.

The case is 44 mm in diameter, has a case thickness of 13.20 and is tightly closed. The bezel is fixed to the case with 8 stainless steel hexagon head screws. The transparent and scratch-resistant sapphire glass case back is closed with 8 round stainless steel screws on the back of the case. There is a special engraving on the case back: “Royal Oak” is written on the top, and “LIMITED EDITION OF 100 PIECES” is written around the bottom.

This watch is also unique in its mechanical complexity. The watch is equipped with a tourbillon, a watchmaking complication known to increase precision by balancing the friction created by gravity on the movement when at different angles. Even if it didn't do any good, it's fascinating to watch and will amaze anyone who sees it in action.

The tourbillon cage is located at 6 o'clock on the skeletonized dial. The baton-shaped hour and minute hands on the dial are made of polished white gold and filled with a lume material that glows green in the dark; as do the matching round index hour markers and the downward-pointing triangle at 12 o'clock.

The black secondary dials seem to float above the dial. It is the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, used in the chronograph stopwatch function. The other is the small running seconds subdial and is located at the 9 o'clock position. Other than the small running seconds hand, the other hour and minute hands, namely the 30-minute counter hour and the black and white large central seconds hand, are used by the chronograph for the timekeeping function. The dial flange surrounding the outer edge of the dial is black and features a white, finely printed seconds and split seconds scale for precise time measurement.

The entire skeleton dial appears monochromatic when viewed in normal light; Only a few small red sparkles used on the watch stones on the tourbillon and its cage attract attention. This matches perfectly with the black ceramic bracelet and even the two additional sporty rubber straps that come with the watch. One of them is completely black rubber, the other is black rubber with gray sides. Bracelet; An extra set includes black ceramic ear pods and a titanium AP-style deployant buckle.
