Workmanship Details Review of Clean Rolex Green Submariner Watch

The Rolex Submariner model is produced by Clean Factory with a solid 904L stainless steel case, 41 mm diameter and a high-precision automatic Super Clone movement architecture. It is among the most successful 1:1 super clone watch reviews on the market, with its sapphire crystal AR coating glass, original case tolerances and detailed workmanship.

So what are the differences between the new Rolex Submariner Green Water Ghost and the old model?

Dial and Hand Details

First of all, when viewed from the front, the most obvious difference is this: the dial of the new Green Water Ghost has switched from the old green dial surface to a black enamel dial surface. On the whole it looks a bit more retro, reminiscent of the first generation Water Ghost.

The second difference is the change in size: the diameter, which used to be 40 mm, has increased to 41 mm, but the actual measurement is 40.5 mm. I scanned a lot of sources to reach this original data. The thickness is the same as before, 12.5 mm; weight 162 grams. So it really has a considerable weight.

Case and Body Workmanship

Now, let's focus on some details: The bezel of the Clean/Clean new Green Water Ghost is a ceramic bezel, also produced by Clean. This is the closest equivalent level replica bezel to the original color on the market; It had already received approval in domestic and international modification forums. The fact that many large factories in the replica market subsequently highlighted the C bezel as a sales argument shows this; VS Factory and ZF Factory also use C bezels. However, since each factory produces its own bezel lume point, there is a problem in all of them: the color shifts to either yellow or white. Going back to the Clean/Clean side, this time the lume point they used is a milky green color, just like jade; This is very true to the original. It is also possible to distinguish fake Clean from this detail, but it cannot be directly distinguished with this detail alone; I will touch upon other details in the following sections.

When viewed from the side, the middle part of the lume dot is also slightly protruding, the metal edge is very thin; This is the same as the original. This edge is slightly thicker in other products on the market. The raised inscriptions on the bezel are clear and distinct, the small crown shows exactly 12; This is a great advantage for obsessed watch enthusiasts.

The ceramic bezel also uses the newest version Clean V4 equivalent bezel, and this version is also special to them. The hour markers on the bezel are made with platinum vacuum electroplating; The shiny silver tone is also the same as the original, a really successful job has been done in this regard. The length of the hour markers and the thickness-thinness ratio are exactly the same.

As for the graying of the bezel writing coating: Clean's bezel, just like the original, can become gray due to dust accumulation or fingerprints after long-term use. When you gently clean it with a little dishwashing liquid or toothpaste, the color of the coating turns back to a sparkling silver, as if it were brand new.

The serrated part on the bezel edge is also machined; Vertical pattern brushing applied.

As for the dial details: there is no significant change in other parts of the dial; The iconic Mercedes hour hand and round and rectangular hour markers still look classic and attractive.

The length of the second hand and minute hand of the Clean new Green Water Ghost has been slightly increased, while the length of the hour hand has been shortened; but this is very light, almost unnoticeable. The hour and minute hands have a three-dimensional structure, there is no rough feeling on the edges. There is also a solid center shaft; You can see this clearly from the real shot photos.

A sunken effect is also given below the hour and minute hands; This detail is really successful!

There is a cyclops date window in the 3rd position of the dial; The date font is the same as the original, a thin font is used. Not using the bold font in the old model directly is a choice that is in line with the original.

There is also a small crown below the rectangular hour marker at 6; The opening of the small crown is also made the same as the original.

Apart from this, there is Rolex's anti-counterfeiting small crown on the glass directly opposite the small crown; You can only see it from a certain angle. The photo I took wasn't very clear, so deal with it.

The four corners of the stick marks at positions 6 and 9 and the triangular mark at position 12 are also engraved; they look softer and rounder.

As for the case: 904L stainless steel is used as the case material. Clean also remolded and produced the entire case body. You can tell by the change in the four ears: the ears of the new model are slightly narrower and thinner than the old Water Ghost. In fact, many of Rolex's antique watches used a "thin lug" design, with a narrower lug width. When the second generation Green Water Ghost came out in 2010, Rolex changed it to a “wide lug” and the watch had a larger feel as a whole. This year's new Green Water Ghost is back to Rolex's tradition.

I took it apart and measured it: the ear-to-ear distance of the new 41 mm Green Water Ghost is 21 mm. This makes the strap width of the new Water Ghost and the second generation Water Ghost different, so the links of the two are not interchangeable.

Strap, Buckle and Comfort

While we have the strap removed, let's take a look at the inside of the case's strap link link; There is also the serial number engraved here. Clean has been really careful about this!

The side surface of the case is polished. The crown guard shoulders have been slightly modified from the old Green Water Ghost; The width is narrower in the new model. This was done to make it look more compatible with thin ears.

The teeth of the crown are distinct and angular, but they do not sting; The small crown pattern is made with the relief technique and has a very three-dimensional appearance.

Clean's new 41 mm Green Water Ghost also has a closed case back design. Clean puts a Doraemon sticker on the case back at the factory, but this is not a criterion for distinguishing between fake and original Clean. Many people wonder "why is double-sided tape applied to the four ears?" one might wonder; The main purpose of this is to prevent the ears from being scratched when the strap is put on and removed.

The size of the triangular dimple texture on the back of the case is the same as the original; Also, the fit of the entire case back edge is extremely good. After tightening in other factories, a significant gap and a rising surface form behind the case.

The general processing of the case back is also very successful; There are also Rolex brand engravings on the inside of the case back.

A new model steel bracelet is also used on the strap side; The buckle has increased in width and is not compatible with the old Water Ghost strap. This bracelet is also made by AR Factory's steel bracelet production factory. 904L stainless steel material processed, the texture is very high quality. The corners of the security buckle are rounded and the crown emblem on the buckle is very distinctive, three-dimensional and does not sting. When you open the inner buckle, the overall polish shine inside is extremely successful. Additionally, there is an extension steel piece at the other end, and the sandblasting work inside is very clean and neat.
